While everyone's crazy over DSLR or rather DSLR looking cameras, there's also a whole lot of us looking back in time and toying with cameras that were based on the basic mechanisms of cameras in the past.
Those that do not even require battery(:
Well, it is true that most of the effects toy cameras can deliver can be edited by photoshop. But I guess like many fans of film photography, the sense of satisfaction is with composing a photo at the very moment.Editing just does't allow us more room to improve our skills? I guess we are also too used with the instant view of digi cams. It just felt like i'm going back to the time when i was young. It was always exciting to view the developed photos mummy collected from the nearby Kodak shop.
The other attraction of toy cameras is definitely the cute design and the 'not so perfect' photo that it gives. Somehow it's the exact opposite to the maybe 10 megapixals digital camera we have been using all along. The colour of the photo might give a 'vintage' look too. And it's also lighter than the semipro i'm using. well maybe the problem would be most of them does not include a build in flash and only certain Holga models can attach an external flash... hmm toy cameras love sunlight!
Here are some interesting ones (: Wide angle lens camera
I haven got the chance to try it yet. It's suppose to have dark corners like the Holga and wide angle view in vivid colours.

4 lens cameraIt will take 4 frames in one shot. Suitable for moving objects (: and there are also 2 and 3 frames types.
well it's does look a little funny cos the viewfinder is just a square frame that you can flip up at the top. Hmm.. i guess it's not that precise but hopefully the photos will turn out nice!

Twin Lens reflex- the famous BBF (blackbird fly)
This twin lens means 2 objective lenses: One that exposes the film to capture the photo, and the other as the waist-level viewfinder. The interesting part is it can allow you to choose 3 formats even when using the normal 35mm film. We can take square photos with it?! It is said that it snaps fast so we can be on the move while taking photos with it! so exciting (:
Blackbird blackbird.. symbolises freedom...
I need to save up for my freedom~
Those mini cuties...
A book camera
It's cute and very convenient to bring with you everywhere you go... but the inconvenient part is it needs 110mm format films that's hard to find and only some stores can develop them for you... think again(:
oh, basically it adds grainy texture to photos...
Golden half
Unlike the multiple lens camera, this one can take 2 frames separately (: One after another! It's really tempting cos I love 2R size and it automatically fits in 2 frames in one normal size photo... I can cut them into 2R if I wish... well but besides that...it comes with a hotshoe! so light is not a very big prob (;
Polaroid or instax
yeah... easy to use and there's build in flash... phew (:
good for gatherings and events!
recently there's a bigger photo size instax coming up... it's the same size as the older polaroid series.. but i guess the films will be even more exx...
oh, and a new version of poohpooh border cardsize films are out... it's the sketchy kind! wow.. I wanna get one... opps...

Photography = lifelong learning and investment (:
Lovin it!
I will have sis outing soon!!
and he will be back... hmm.
